but to have them look out their windows and look out from their playground to see a gun store is wrong. >> a gun store opens inside the beltway from beltway feet from a grade school and parents are protesting. the opening of a gun store in mcclane, virginia, brought out angry parents with signs and blow horns. the owner says he has a right to be there.

>> i just sort of shocked. >> that is one of my schools that i'm sworn to protect. >> not a place to worry about a gun. >> very scary. would you want your elementary school children there? >> it's opening day for nova firearms, new store in mcclane. the problem for these parents neighbors school and political leaders is, see that building so close by? it's an elementary school. >> i'm very concerned that they have chosen to put a gun store in the backyard of a grade school. i think it's an outrage. >> it is what it is. i can't stop them. they are exercising the right to free speech, which we understand. we are exercising our right to carry and we are exercising our right to open a legal business where we can. >> sport owner says his business outgrew its original store. and this will be their brand- new larger space. >> it is a great school and yes, we understand we're in the backyard. but in this industry, it's really hard to find a landlord that is gun friendly. >> if you're wondering, this

space, these guns, and the proximity to the school is all legal. >> it's a lawful business. it can be moved elsewhere. >> which is what these people came out today to say. >> we are hoping we can encourage this store owner to go back to the store that he already has three blocks away. >> my kids go to this school and this completely unacceptable. >> until we can figure out a way to keep people that shouldn't have guns away from having guns, we shouldn't be promoting this kind of thing in a family friendly town that we live in. >> as of now, that store will remain open. they don't just sell guns, they have classroom facilities for safety instruction. fairfax county police are investigating the possible use of excessive force by one of its officers. that's after a youtube video, the one you're looking at now surfaced, showing the officer using a taser on a suspect. police tell us the man was arrested on a larceny charge

philadelphia and his speeches touch on a wide range of topics. good evening, danielle. >> reporter: good evening, deborah. you know, the pope heard stories from families from around the world tonight and he was serenaded by some of the biggest names in music. and his message tonight to the crowd was, families are a factory of hope. thunderous applause erupted when pope francis took the stage at the festival of families in philadelphia. actor mark wahlberg was the host. >> father, welcome to philadelphia. >> aretha franklin serenaded the pope with amazing grace. the 78-year-old catholic leader said a special prayer. earlier, the pope smiled, delighted the crowd who waited to see the motorcade drive by. as he often does, the holy father kissed baby after baby.

we are 24 of 26 for september. and we're going to go 75 tomorrow. a little bit warmer tomorrow. so, a live look outside. it's our live michael and son weather cam. it's cloudy. 65 right now. dew points in the 50s. that's pretty dry and the winds east, northeast at 15. the winds will be with us through tomorrow, small craft advisory for the bay again. here's the radar over the past hour. you can see some action lifting out of loudoun county into montgomery county. nothing crazy heavy. we'll zoom in and put a different spin on this radar. you can see light activity. germantown, and just pulling away from leesburg and poolsville. this is going to be out of here by daybreak. so, tee time tomorrow morning in montgomery county, keep it. better chance of showers on sunday, but there's going to be few and far between. mostly cloudy for the lunar eclipse. it will be tough to see. might get a glimpse of it. we have a couple glimpses of the moon, despite the mostly cloudy skies. warmer monday with showers and

thunderstorms and still unsettled tuesday and wednesday. still fairly warm. so, lunar eclipse begins tomorrow evening. it takes awhile. we have a couple breaks in the clouds, we'll be okay. it begins at 9:07. it's a full moon, too, which is fantastic. by the time we get to 10:00, it will begin the full eclipse. if you get a glimpse, you should see a red color, and maximum at 10:47, about 24 hours from now, and it continues. it ends at 11:23, the full eclipse. but we see a partial eclipse after midnight at 12:27. so, it's worth taking a look at. you don't need glasses or anything. it's lunar, not solar eclipse. we get a couple minutes of breaks in the clouds, we'll be okay. 50s and 6 60s. by 1:00, low 70s downtown. still 60s in the suburbs, but notice all the showers back to the south and west, which is essentially where they stayed today. by 4:00 p.m., showers to

fredericksburg south, culpeper west. leesburg is 72. 71 in gaithersburg and bowie, 74 downtown. by 7:00, upper 60s to around 70. most of the showers south and west. there will be a few closer to the immediate metro area. but, i wouldn't plan around them. if you want to do stuff outside, do it. if you want to pick pumpkins, go to the pumpkin patch. to around 70 downtown with a lot of clouds and by overnight tomorrow, 2:00 in the morning, monday, some showers will begin to develop and move northward. in fact, monday is a better chance for showers and storms. on the day planner, just clouds, maybe a break in the clouds again. we saw a few breaks today. 69 by 11:00. and 73 by 1:00. so, monday, warmer. better chance for showers and storms, 79. warmer still on tuesday with some storms possible. 81 degrees. next seven days, wednesday, we're looking at a better chance for showers and storms and cooler, mid 70s, and cool on thursday. 72. only 70 on friday. and showers for the terps next

the game kicked off a big week of football here on wusa9. the 0-2 ravens are approaching must-winter story. they play the -- ravens, they haven't been able to put complete games together. last week, a head scratcher in oakland. the defense looked like swiss cheese, allowing derek karr, and the raiders put up 37 points. now joe flacco doesn't play defense, but he knows tomorrow is crucial. >> i think it definitely adds urgency, whether it should or shouldn't. it probably does a little bit because it doesn't feel good to be a hole 0-2. the fact of the matter is, we lost two games in a row before, which happened to be at the beginning of the season. it's a long year, we believe we have a good team. >> all right, some soccer now to finish up, d.c. united against montreal. watch this kick. those feet were made for
